Welcome message from our chairman

Welcome at the Christian Seaman's Organisation's home page.

The CSO aims to bring the Good News of God's Love to each person involved in a maritime life.

We have evangelists in each of the large harbours in South Africa. They visit the seafaring men on the vessels daily to care for their spiritual needs. Fellow-believers of almost every language and cultural group are our faithful, loyal supporters, donors and co-workers. The CSO has international ties with other organisations and is a member of the International Christian Maritime Association - an umbrella organisation for harbour evangelisation organisations.

Dr Wimpie van Schoor
Chairman

Language

Language is something we use when we think, discuss issues, talk to others, have conversations and when we dream. Ever tried to explain something close to your heart to someone else, trying to make them feel the same passion and emotion that lives within you? Try doing that in another language! And how do we talk about and think about God? How do we experience God? We do that mostly in our own language. If we cannot express something like His mercy, His peace and love in our own language, it becomes foreign concepts that apply to other people. But, if you talk about God in your own language, it can become part of your being, of your own inner self.

Special Events
Our church services with Rina Hugo and Jammies Jamneck are a wonderful spiritual experience. We have a wonderful outreach to our seafarers and now with these special services we can also reach out to our donors and friends.

We will keep you informed of our services from time to time, on our website and on Facebook. In the meantime enjoy some of the photo's taken at last years' services.

Warm Hearts Project

We have been busy with this project for a number of years. Our donors and friends knit beanies and scarves for our seafarer friends for those cold days at sea.

It is a wonderful gift and they are so grateful especially when they understand who made it. If you can not knit please pack a blessed bag ( ziplock bag with toiletries) - a sure winner.

You can decide which harbour you want to support. Enjoy!
Click here get all the info needed for the knitting and packing!

Enjoy the new photo's!
